Confused About the Different Types of Decompression Treatments Available?

It seems that ads for spinal decompression for low back pain and leg pain resulting from
degenerative, bulging, and herniated discs are popping up everywhere.

How do you know who to choose or where to go?
How do you know if they have the necessary training and experience?
How do you know what equipment is the most effective?
How do you know if you are truly getting effective decompression treatment?

The main reason that spinal decompression is becoming so popular is that it works, if done with  the  right equipment and with the proper knowledge and experience. The Back Pain Institute of St Louis has utilized spinal decompression since August 1996 and has treated over 5,000 patients. We are a pioneer in the various diagnostic and treatment procedures that have proven to increase the effectiveness of spinal decompression and have been incorporated into the treatment program known as SpineTREX® in facilities across the country.

There are imitators with equipment that's unproven and ineffective for decompressing spinal discs. Some medical equipment companies sell traction devices claiming decompression is a natural by product of traction. There is one study on a traction device that actually shows that the pressure in the disc increases rather than decreases, it is the decreased pressure or vacuum effect that produces  the result. It's just not as simple as putting someone on a piece of equipment and hope they get better. There are many considerations that must be made to produce a successful outcome.

If you are considering spinal decompression treatment
here are some
Questions to ask to help you make the best choice.

How long they have been using spinal decompression?
How many patients they have treated?
Is the equipment they are using actually has research and ask for a copy?
Is the equipment is FDA approved for spinal decompression or is it just traction?
Will they provide you with several patients that you can personally speak to?
